Warranty Policy
Every pre-owned device we sell carries a 6 month limited warranty from Dr Mac Store, on top of any Apple India coverage still remaining. This page explains exactly what that covers, what it does not, and how to claim.
What is covered
We warrant that the hardware in a pre-owned device is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for 6 months from the date of purchase. The warranty is valid in India, and only for devices bought from us, in store or through drmac.store.
This is our own warranty. It is in addition to, and does not replace, any remaining Apple India warranty or AppleCare+, and it does not affect your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Where a device still has Apple coverage, claiming directly from Apple is usually faster, and we will tell you when that is the case rather than route you through us.
What is not covered
- Normal wear, and cosmetic marks such as scratches, dents or discolouration.
- Batteries and other consumables. Battery health at the time of sale is published in the condition report, and natural decline from use is not a defect.
- Accidental damage, liquid contact, fire, power surges and natural disasters.
- Improper use, installation or storage, and unauthorised repair or modification.
- Software faults and third-party applications.
- Devices with an active Activation Lock or Find My, or with a PIN or password we cannot get past. We cannot service a device we cannot switch on and examine.
- Devices with a defaced or altered serial number, and devices reported stolen.
- Accessories such as chargers, cables and earphones.
- Devices bought anywhere other than Dr Mac.
How to claim
- Call or message us on +91 73076 13296 or email support@drmac.store with your invoice and a description of the fault.
- Bring the device to the shop, which costs nothing, or ask us to collect it. Doorstep collection is charged at Rs 299 to cover the courier.
- We assess the device and then repair it with genuine or certified parts, replace it with the same or an equivalent model, or, where neither is viable, issue a store voucher of up to 75% of the invoice value against another device.
A replacement may differ in colour or finish. Repairs and replacements are covered for the remainder of the original 6 months, not a fresh term. A voucher is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
How this sits with your right to return
This warranty is not the first thing that applies. If a device arrives faulty, or does not match its listing, the Return & Refund Policy governs, and it is more generous: we collect the device at our cost and you choose between a repair, a replacement or a full refund in money. The pickup charge and the voucher option on this page apply only to warranty claims made after the 7 day return window has closed. Where the two pages could both apply, the return policy wins.
Before you hand a device over
- Back up your data. We are not liable for data lost during service.
- Turn off Find My and remove any PIN, password or biometric lock.
- Take out your SIM and any memory card.
- Have your invoice ready, and photo ID if we ask for it.
Photograph the device before it is collected. It settles any later question about a mark that was already there, and it protects both of us.
Limits
The warranty covers the original purchaser named on the invoice and does not transfer if you sell the device on. Our total liability under this warranty is limited to what you paid for the device, and we are not liable for indirect loss such as lost data, lost profit or loss of use. Nothing here excludes liability that Indian law does not allow us to exclude.
Governing law
This warranty is governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Chandigarh have exclusive jurisdiction. If something has gone wrong, talk to us first, or use the grievance redressal route.
