Privacy Policy
Dr Mac Store (Dr.mac) runs drmac.store. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Details you give us. Your name, phone number, email address and delivery address when you register, place an order or send us an enquiry. If you sell or trade in a device, the details of that device.
- Order and service records. What you bought, the serial number of the unit, invoices, repair and warranty history, and our correspondence with you.
- Usage data. Pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, collected through analytics cookies so we can see which listings people find useful.
We do not collect payment card numbers. Payments are handled in store or through our payment partners, who receive card details directly.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry, quote you a price and complete a sale.
- To ship your order and let the courier reach you.
- To handle returns, refunds, warranty and repair cases, and to issue invoices.
- To meet our tax and accounting obligations.
- To improve the site, using aggregated analytics.
- To tell you about stock and offers, only where you have asked us to. You can stop these at any time by replying STOP on WhatsApp or telling us in store.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share the minimum necessary with courier partners for delivery, payment providers for settlement, our accountants and tax authorities where the law requires it, and Apple or the relevant manufacturer where a warranty claim needs it. Our website hosting and analytics providers process data on our instructions.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses a cookie to remember your light or dark theme choice and, when you are signed in, a cookie to keep you signed in. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used; it sets its own cookies and processes usage data on our behalf. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though the sign-in and theme features need theirs to work.
How long we keep it
Order, invoice and warranty records are kept for 8 years, which is what tax and consumer law requires. Enquiries that do not lead to a sale are kept for up to two years. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over HTTPS, account passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and access to customer records is limited to Dr Mac staff accounts, whose actions are logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat customer data as something we hold on trust.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, or withdraw consent for marketing messages. Write to care@drmac.store and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may escalate to the relevant data protection authority.
Children
The site is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect their data, and will delete it if we learn we have.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date below it. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
